May Teacher of the Month: Mrs. Ashley!

Mrs. Ashley Prudhom is the Master Teacher in our Monarchs preschool classroom.
She was born and raised in Edmond and has one younger brother.  In June of 2007, she married her high school sweetheart!  She and her husband have been together for eight years and married for almost two!

She graduates in May of 2009 with her degree in Child Development from the University of Central Oklahoma.

In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and friends, and now has a new love for reading!  "Children are my passion" she says.

Her favorite quote is "Play is the highest expression of human development in childhood, for it alone is the free expression of what is in a child’s soul."  by Friedrich Forbel.

Congratulations Ms. Ashley, keep up the good work!

International Infant & Toddler Conference

April 24, 2009
Tulsa, OK

Mrs. Liliy (Skippers, 2’s) and Ms Bronwyn (Woolly Worms, Infants) had the opportunity to attend the International Infant & Toddler Conference in Tulsa this month. They found it to be an inspiring conference with unique offerings by internationally known presenters. They learned of treasures left by Dr. Emmi Pikler and Magda Gerber, both of whom revolutionized the way we look at infancy and the early toddler years. They saw and experienced the roots of cutting-edge early childhood practices through Relationship-Based Care from organizations that have been teaching these methods for more than sixty years, with hands-on experiences and archival footage.

Many talented and caring people devoted their time, expertise, and energy to making this conference happen. Presenters from near and far joined together because of their commitment to the Pikler Institute in Budapest, Hungary. The combined efforts of everyone helped support the continued research and training of infant and toddler professionals throughout the world.

Mrs. Liliy and Ms Bronwyn brought back a lot of good ideas and we look forward to implementing them into our program.
