Big Trucks!

The theme for January was "Big Trucks". Our classrooms really had a good time with this theme. We had many visitors this month!

We had fireman Derek come visit the Skippers and Buckeyes. We had Ms. Erin from the USPS bring her mail truck by and teach us about mailing letters. We also had Ms. Natalie from EMSA show us her ambulance and her loud sirens. Towards the end of January we had Mr. Charlie show us his Police car. Mr. Charlie spoke with the children about following rules and being a good citizen. We sure enjoyed meeting all of our new friends in the community (click the links to view the photos)!

Grass!

The theme for February is grass and gardens! My Small Wonders now has an area for a garden in our playground but we don’t have any plants!

If anyone has experience with Oklahoma gardening (or would just like to volunteer some manual labor) please let us know. We would like to make this garden resilient to Oklahoma weather with minimal water requirements to provide a resource conserving learning experience for the children!

February Teacher of the Month: Mrs. Elizabeth!

Elizabeth Seaman; Master Teacher, CinnabarsMrs. Elizabeth is a Master Teacher in our Cinnabars infant classroom.

She was born in Michigan but grew up in Missouri.  She and her husband have been happily married for 31 years.  They have two children, Clara and Chester, ages 19 and 21, both are currently attending college.  Elizabeth and David like to travel, and someday they would like to see the World.  They have lived in 7 states, and would like to thoroughly explore the remaining 43 !

She truly enjoyed raising her children as a 20 year stay-at-home Mom, so naturally when she chose to go back to work, she wanted to work with children!  “A child’s hug can make my day!”

Congratulations Mrs. Elizabeth, keep up the good work!
